ABOUT MY LORD SHANIDEVJI

Lord Shani the son of Surya Dev and Vikshubha or Chhaya is one of the nine "Navagraha" (celestial gods) in Hindu belief. Lord Shani occupies the seventh place among these nine planets which govern our lives. Lord Shani is believed to be the god causing miseries in the life of a human being. Hence Shani occupies the principal position among the pantheon of Hindu deities in warding off evil and to get rid off obstacles. He is the brother of Yama (deity of death) and is believed to be responsible for punishing or rewarding one in the lifetime in accordance with their 'karma' (action).

Shani traditionally is depicted in Hindu mythology as extremely dark wearing black clothes and mounted on a vulture or a raven. The trinity Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh are the creator; preserver and destroyer of the world but to execute these tasks several incarnations of Lord have taken birth.Since Lord Shani is designated the task of granting the fruits of one's action he is the most feared amongst Hindu gods. The powerful lord is believed to have the control of making a king into a pauper as well as changing the fortunes of a sufferer.

Lord Shanidev is specially revered by people who face difficult times in their lives and find solace in doing 'dan' (service by donating) on Saturdays. Saturday is the day denoted to Lord Shani and it is believed that those who have Shani as their swami should resort to wearing the stone of Lord Shani - Sapphire. Shani Dev is a great devotee of Lord Shiva and hence those who wish to appease him pray to Lord Shiva along with Lord Shani. It is believed that if Saturn or Shani is placed in a favorable position for you, no one can bestow more wealth and success than Lord Shani.

Lord Shanidev 

the king among the nine planets. He is the lord of JUSTICE and son of Father Suryadev and Mother Chaaya. He is brother of Lord Yamraj (God of Death).


This temple is situated in Udaipur (Rajasthan). This is one of the only temple of Lord Shanidev where he is shown swallowing the planet Sun and the only temple where no oil is poured on the main Idol. This temple has 13 Pujari's and each Pujari's turn comes after 13 years.

Neelam (Blue Sapphire)

Blue sapphire/Neelam shows its effects sooner than any other gem. It is proved fruitful or effective to the wearer, it will destroy his diseases, faults, sorrows, poverty and increases his food grains, prosperity, strength, glory, life-span and off-springs. It also restores the property which the wearer might have lost prior to the wearing of the blue sapphire. If it is proved unfavorable, it may make all the efforts, activities fruitless and may destroy every thing of the wearer.

NEELAM (BLUE SAPPHIRE)

Blue sapphire is most useful especially to the transporters, property dealers, contractors, mill owners, dealers in machines, laborers, hawkers, policemen, workers of local self-government and financiers. It is also said that it can give peace to the heart of the man if it is worn near the heart. According to a Buddhist monk evil thoughts are destroyed and mind as well as behavior remains pacified by wearing blue sapphire. Morality remains firm in ladies who wear blue sapphire. It should be taken off, if its colour is changed or it is cracked because this is a warning to the wearer that he should change his gem.

Blue Sapphire (Neelam) should never be worn without a trial. An unblemished blue Sapphire if it suits the wearer can removes poverty and provides health, wealth, longevity, happiness, prosperity, name and fame. It also restores lost wealth and property.

 

NEELAM GOLD RING

A blemished Blue Sapphire (Neelam) is the cause of many miseries. If the Blue Sapphire (Neelam) has white lines on it, it is bad for the eyes. The whitish (milky) stone brings poverty. A cracked blue sapphire brings accidents to the native. The dual coloured stone may cause troubles from the enemy side. The dull coloured Blue Sapphire (Neelam) causes distress and worries to nears and dears.

There are also following beliefs about this stone.

1. If the Blue Sapphire (Neelam) is put in water and the same water is used to wash the scorpion bite, the effect of the poison is removed immediately.

2. If the Blue Sapphire (Neelam) it is worn as a talisman, it gives protection from evil spirits.

3. The Blue Sapphire forewarns its owner by changing its colour if there is any conspiracy or threat of an attack on him by his or her enemies.
